human
nature
In this collection of photographs, I place the human form in two contrasting worlds: the overwhelming, ever-changing complexities of nature, and the stark simplicities of absolute emptiness.
In the wild, the intricate landscape becomes a stage for a connection as old as life itself. But in isolation, the human forms I capture seem to metamorphose into developing organisms—not so dissimilar to the life cycle of the plants around them.
Through these images, I want to start a conversation: Are we truly a part of nature, or are we an invasive species growing out of control? These photographs hold the tension between belonging and estrangement, inviting you to reconsider exactly where and how we stand in our fragile world. Still, their beauty, vulnerability, and adaptability reflect that we do possess the capacity to grow toward reunification with our environment, grasping what it means to be fully human.
